The Algonquin Anishnabeg language is important to the Kokomag Advisory Council. The Council has placed language at the center of the work they do with the cultural and health renewal of their people.  The Algonquin language is used as their first language within the council meetings, gatherings, and the camp itself. This ensures the Algonquin language is used on a regular basis in a variety of settings so it does not become extinct.  There is usually a lot of laughter that goes along with the Anishnabe language in use. The more you are exposed to it the easier it becomes to recognize words and phrases. Come and join us at a gatherings or at our camp and join into our conversations!
